Family photos do not have to begin with a stressful morning.
A little preparation can help, but perfection is not the goal. Start with outfits that feel comfortable and coordinate without matching every detail. Soft neutrals, complementary colours and simple textures often photograph beautifully, especially outdoors on the prairie.
Think about your children’s routines when choosing a time. A well-rested child with a snack beforehand may enjoy the session more than one who is hungry or overtired. Bring a few essentials, but avoid packing so much that the experience feels like an expedition.
Before the session, tell your children that you are going to spend time together and have some pictures taken. You do not need to rehearse smiles or remind them to behave perfectly. I will help guide everyone once we begin.
Most of all, leave room for the unexpected. A little wind, a burst of laughter or a child who needs extra cuddles does not ruin the session. Those moments often make it feel more like your family. Come as you are, and we will make something meaningful together.
